Hi, my name is Emi. Growing up, I was always surrounded by beauty and creativity, especially through my mom, who is a professional nail technician. I remember sitting in her salon chair, getting my nails done, and watching her work with clients. The salon atmosphere always fascinated me—how each service could boost someone’s confidence and make them feel beautiful. Those early experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the beauty industry and motivated me to join cosmetology class in high school, where I began developing my own skills and career path.
My journey officially started in 10th grade with Intro to Cosmetology, where I learned the basics of safety, sanitation, and the core principles of hair care and styling. In 11th grade, I continued with Cosmetology Services II, where I started performing hands-on services like shampooing, blow drying, and basic styling techniques. I became more comfortable using hot tools and learned how to work with different hair textures. By the time I reached Cosmetology Services III in 12th grade, I had grown a lot in both skill and confidence. I practiced more services than ever—from hair cutting and hair coloring to makeup application and nail services. I began exploring color techniques, an idea on client consultations, and the professionalism that’s expected in the salon environment.
While I truly enjoy doing hair and nails, my passion lies in skincare. I love learning about how to care for different skin types, treat skin conditions, and help people feel confident in their natural beauty. After graduation, I plan to attend esthetician school/technical college, earn my license in esthetics, and eventually work in a skincare clinic. Cosmetology class gave me strong skills and confidence, helping me realize that the beauty industry is where I belong. I'm looking forward to turning my passion into a long-term career.
